LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE (LVN)

SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating, assessing and implementing of an effective comprehensive Health Services Program for all children enrolled in all Parent/Child Incorporated programs. This position involves extensive record keeping, organizing, problem solving and time management.                                     

Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor degree in Health Education, in lieu of a degree, a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Three (3) year experience working in the medical field or social service agency.  Must be licensed in the state of Texas.

Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to coordinate health services for children in accordance to local, state and federal guidelines.  Knowledge in Medicaid, CHIPS and other third party regulations.   

Essential Functions: Responsible for abiding by PCI Policies and Procedures, as well as, adhere to Head Start ACF Performance Standards and TDFPS (Texas Department of Family and Protectives Services) Minimum Standards, and CACFP, relating to the Health Services Program.

  • Will coordinate, implement and monitor all Health Services for PCI children.
  • Will ensure that physical and dental clinics are rendered by appropriate health providers as defined in the federal, state and local guidelines for all PCI enrollees.
  • Will ensure that health/dental referrals and follow-ups are processed in a timely manner for compliance purposes.
  • Will assist with monitoring Texas Health Step Medical Checkups Periodicity Schedule effort and make recommendations when necessary.
  • Will maintain and process appropriate health records on enrolled children as per agency’s procedures as well as prescreening procedures for scheduled clinics.
  • Will develop and update Clinic Schedules, disseminate to all PCI Centers, Content Areas, Departments and Health Providers.
  • Will comply in preparing and delivering Notification to PCI Centers at least one (1) week prior to dental clinic.
  • Will submit on a monthly basis (by the 3rd) a report of the tasks accomplished by the end of the previous month.
  • Will provide T/TA to Education Center Coordinator in completing all health Services Source Documents for submission.
  • Will conduct on-site center visits to ensure healthy environments for children.
  • Will track all children’s accident reports, insurance claim forms and hospital invoices for processing claims.
  • Will work with Distribution center staff to ensure the distribution of medical and first aid kit supplies to PCI Centers.
  • Maintains detailed, accurate, up-to-date and confidential records including; child health files, health services tracking system and documentation of all activities; develops and submits timely reports of component service provision and activities for director. 
  • Maintains strict child, family and staff confidentiality at all times.

EDUCATION TRAINER:

SUMMARY:

The education/Trainer shall, under the direction of the Education/Training Specialist, be responsible for assisting in the overall planning, designing, coordination, development, implementation, and evaluation of the instructional program.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  •  Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. 
  •  Three (3) years in a child development center classroom and/or experience providing training and technical assistance to classroom and administrative staff on Early Childhood Development.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn the New Head Start Program Performance Standards.

Essential Functions

  • Assess quality of teacher-child interactions in Head Start Classrooms
  • Improve teacher-child interactions in the areas of emotional supports, classroom organization, and instructional supports.
  • Integrate C.L.A.S.S. into the program’s education and mental health services and system.   
  • Provide data supporting progress of staff understanding or lack of utilize the following T/TA

Strategies:

  • Conduct pre-service and in-service training.
  • Provide on-site mentor-coaching to help classroom staff strengthen teaching practices that support children’s learning and outcomes.
  • Provide reflective supervision that will allow classroom staff to reflect on their interactions and instructional practices.          
  • Carry out other responsibilities as directed by the Education/Training Specialist

SUMMARY:
Responsible for the management, that includes inventory of agency technology-related equipment to include network equipment and related peripherals. Assist in network managements, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains hardware and software. Train users in applications usage. Assist with the coordination of activities outside vendors, consultants and trainers.
Qualifications and Requirements:
 Two year Technical/Associate Degree from an accredited college or university, or 4 years proven work experience in technology related agencies, along with training and facilitation experience in same.
 Broad based knowledge and experience in computer applications. MS Windows systems, and networking equipment, cloud computing and network systems.
 The ability to analyze and trouble-shoot problems on computer systems, printers, networks and other technology related devices.
 Knowledge of telecommunications, networks, and Ethernet wiring systems.
 Knowledge of web-based applications as well as usage of Social Media and cloud computing.
 Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Office applications.
 Demonstrated training skills, ability to provide presentations/training to small and large groups.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Will use information provided to answer verbal inquiries about the Agency. Will also use information through self-research on the Agency and programs administered by PCI.
  • Will take concise messages and distribute accordingly, via message pad or by email.
  • Will greet everyone who enters the building, ensures they sign in and are escorted by the staff person they have come to meet with at all times.
  • Will reconcile monthly fuel billing in a timely manner.
  • Will assist with the preparation and distribution of PCI Policy Council and Board packages.
  • Will also assist with set-up of meetings as needed.
  • Will assist with logging of all incoming, outgoing inter-office and U.S. Mail on a daily basis to
  • include distribution of such mail.
  • Will assist with the maintaining files to include maintaining confidentiality of such correspondence at all times.
