DAY HOME MONITOR – DAY HOMES:

JOB SUMMARY:  Monitor for Child Adult Care Food Program Compliance (CACFP) of food service to children in Registered Family Day Homes Program.  Provides training and technical assistance to Registered Family Day Home Providers to ensure all CACFP Regulations are met.                                       

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). 
  • One (1) year food service experience in a nutritional environment establishment or a non-profit agency. 

SPECIAL KNOWELDGE/SKILLS: 

  • Be Familiar with Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) guidelines.
  • Computer literate  
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form. HOURLY RATE: $9.64                              

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Will make pre-visit to all new providers prior to their entrance into the program. 2.
  • Will make on-site visit to each new provider within the first four weeks of operation during a  Breakfast, lunch or supper.
  • Will submit a flex schedule to planned visits on a weekly basis to Registered Family Day Homes Nutrition Program Coordinator, for approval.
  • Will visit each Registered Day Home Provider assigned at least once every three months. 
  • Will monitor homes to ensure that correct menus are being planned and implemented to meet CACFP meal pattern guidelines.
  • Will review daily menu records and make necessary dis-allowments during on-site visits.
  • Will monitor homes to ensure that correct daily attendance records are being kept.
  • Will provide training and technical assistance on an individual basis to all providers during each on-site visit. 
  • Will document any problems found during an on-sites visit by completing a site visit report, and reporting serious problems with an attached memo. 
  • Will complete and submit a weekly activity report on due date.
  • Will make an effort to recruit new day home providers.
  • Will be responsible for coordinating with CACFP Nutrition Services Manager and conducting group-training sessions to Day Home Providers. 
  • Will work directly with the CACFP Nutrition Services Manager in assisting with any component function or responsibility.

BACHELOR DEGREE TEACHER (Head Start) - Southwest Early Learning Center

JOB SUMMARY: Teacher whose primary function is to provide a safe, healthy and happy environment that fosters learning; implementation of individual education plans, planning and providing activities.

Activities consistent with the program’s objectives and Head Start Philosophy and maintains accurate records with assistance of the Education Center Coordinator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:         

  • Baccalaureate Degree from accredited university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field. 
  • Related field is a Baccalaureate or advances degree with a program of study that includes  7 or mores courses in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.

  SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Ability to interpret and implement all standards and guidelines as they pertain to the Early Childhood Development Program, Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Texas Department of Family Protective Services (TDFPS) Minimum Standards and the Head Start Performance Standards. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form. 
  • Ability to relate sensitively to preschool children. 
  • Ability to plan, evaluate, make intelligent decisions and handle crisis. 
  • Ability to work with individual with special needs, different ethnic or cultural backgrounds or language. 
  • Knowledge and comprehension of all aspects of the Head Start Program Performance Standards, and TDFPS Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers.

HOURLY RATE:  $16.25
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Implementation of the daily educational program utilizing the selected curriculum and following the guidance of the Head Start Performance Standards and TDFPS Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers. 
  • Implementation of lesson plans and activities following the classroom’s selected curriculum. This include daily activities, field trips, selecting and arranging materials in the classroom, cleaning, and grouping of children.
  • Maintaining a portfolio for each child, including observations, examples of the child’s work, and developmental assessments.
  • Cooperate with other staff and classroom groups to maintain the smooth functioning of the  Center, which at times may require changes to meet the needs of the children.
  • Set up learning centers on a daily basis. 
  • Use the playground as an extension of the classroom; assures that the playground is safe. 
  • Implementation of family style meal service to include table setting, serving meals and clean up. 
  • Eat with and assist children in development of social and self-help skills, and sound nutritional practices.
  • Assist in maintaining healthy, safe, and orderly at all times.
  • Ensure the supervision of children under care at all times.
  • Implementation of an Individual Educational Plan (IEP).
  • Implementation of positive guidance techniques to include redirecting children’s unacceptable behaviors and reinforcing desired positive behaviors
  • Maintain child/staff ratio at all times and follow shift change procedures and arrival/departure  activity plan. 
  • Maintain positive relationships with children, staff and parents. 
  • Carry out the daily classroom activities. 
  • Maintaining a healthy, safe, and orderly learning environment. 
  • Communicate child progress and concerns to the teacher.
  • Work with children with special needs, different ethnic or cultural backgrounds or language.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • High School Diploma or GED.  
  • Six (6) months experience working with young children

HOURLY RATE:  $8.00 - $10.00
