Greetings and Viva Fiesta!

I hope your week is off to an amazing start as we prepare to celebrate the excitement, culture, and traditions of Fiesta season. The energy is in the air, even with the inclement weather.

This will be a shorter week, with the Battle of Flowers holiday on Friday, April 24th, giving everyone an opportunity to enjoy one of San Antonio’s most cherished celebrations. Until then, there are many exciting activities and events taking place throughout the week to enjoy with family, friends, and our community.

Wishing each of you a joyful, safe, and festive Fiesta week filled with celebration and pride!

A Special PCI Fiesta Memory

In 2008, Fiesta de los Niños launched at Port San Antonio, located near Highway 90 South and 36th Street, creating a fun-filled celebration for children and families across our community. The event featured a lively morning parade through the Town Center led by homemade floats, along with games, rides, live music, dance performances, and delicious food—all offered free of charge.

One of the most memorable highlights of that first celebration was the children’s medal contest. We are proud to share that the winning design for the inaugural Fiesta de los Niños medal was created by children from one of our very own PCI centers.

At the time, PCI operated the Mirasol Center, where Ms. Leticia Peralta’s class submitted the selected design. What an exciting honor for those children, their teacher, and the entire PCI family! The medal remains a charming reminder of the creativity, imagination, and talent of our children—and of PCI’s long-standing connection to community traditions that celebrate families and learning.

Growth Mindset Quote for the Week…

"What I like most about change is that it's a synonym for 'hope.' If you are taking a risk, what you are really saying is, 'I believe in tomorrow,

and I will be part of it.'"
