Snap Benefit Update!

November 3, 2025
important

Greetings,

We want to share important information regarding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Federal judges have ruled that the government must continue providing SNAP benefits during the federal government shutdown. In response, the Trump Administration has announced that SNAP benefits will be partially restored using emergency funds.

  • Families will continue receiving benefits, but the amount may be reduced or delayed this month.
  • Each state will decide how to process partial payments, so timing and benefit amounts may vary.
  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and state agencies will provide more information soon.

What Families Can Do

  1. Check your EBT card balance regularly.
  2. Watch for official communication from your state SNAP or Human Services office.
  3. Plan ahead in case benefits arrive late or are smaller than usual.
  4. If you need help with food, reach out to local resources:
    • San Antonio Food Bank: (210) 337-3663 | safoodbank.org
    • 211 Texas: Call 2-1-1 or visit 211texas.org
    • PCI Family Advocates: Our team can help connect you with food support and other resources.

We understand that this situation may cause concern. PCI is closely monitoring updates and will share new information as soon as it becomes available.
